Volunteers and PRM staff converted the fountain into a focus planter near the entrance to Heritage Garden.įounded in 1971, the Shelby Gardeners Club promotes interest and knowledge in gardening, flower arrangement and ecology. The grant covered the club's purchase of a six-foot concrete three-tier fountain. The club enhanced the entrance to Heritage Gardens thanks to a $1,610 donation from the Shelby Community Foundation. As a tribute to garden club volunteers' dedication, the club donated the Petal Point sculpture, which resides adjacent to the lake in Heritage Garden. Fundraisers include craft and plant sales and bi-annual garden walks.Īlong with the plantings, Heritage Garden has a growing collection of outdoor garden art. Club fundraisers support the brick walkways, planted beds, gazebo, statuary and the fairy garden. The Shelby Gardeners Club helped found Heritage Garden in 1975.
